Just In Case You Heard....

No we are not pregnant....

We are not moving down to Arizona for a new job. We have decided that Colorado is the best place for us, at least right now in our lives. Thanks to all of the family that helped us in our decision to stay or go and we hope that the family that really wanted us to go will still like us. :)

WE LOVE YOU!

Christmas Decorating

This is pretty much the extent of my Christmas decorations. As you can see I made myself a stocking too. It is a little smaller than Quinn and Kelsey's because I ran out of felt!! Oh well... We are planning to put up our tree tonight, so everything will be complete. I will just have to keep Kelsey away from it, so it doesn't fall on her. Of course, there will be not presents under the tree because Kelsey will just tear them up, so instead they are on top of the entertainment center. Real Classy.

Christmas Stockings

I realized that Kelsey didn't have a stocking for Christmas and Quinn didn't have one that meant anything to him, so I made some today. I think I might have had a little too much fun, but that is what Christmas is all about. I think I might have to make a stocking for me, so we all have the same kind!

The First REAL Snowfall

We finally had our first real snow fall. We have had others but they melted away the same day. This I feel might stick around for a while. Quinn actually had to do his first snow removal for his job, maybe that is why I feel it is official. Kelsey just thought it was bright. I haven't taken her out in it yet. But will definitely take pictures of that!!

Valentine's Day

I didn't want to put "Thanksgiving break" because everyone else did... I did get your attention though!!
We traveled everywhere.....

The week before Thanksgiving we went to Arizona with family, for a quick weekend get together. We flew back on Monday night and kind of cleaned everything from our trip, then Tuesday night we drove to Blackfoot. Yes, we are pretty crazy. It was a 10 hour drive, but luckily Kelsey slept most of the way, which was extremely nice. We spent a few days in Blackfoot with lots of Quinn's family. Ate lots of food, then drove back on Sunday. We finally got home Sunday at about 9:00. Of course, Kelsey didn't go to bed until about midnight, but it could have been worse.

Here are some pictures from our trips:

Dayna, Ben, and Davis making birthday cards for Papa's 50th birthday!! He is an old man now!

Grandma making the sweet goodness for Thanksgiving dessert. Mmm... I want more.... drool....

Kelsey liked playing with the clay pigeon thrower things... If she could, she would have eaten all the empty bullet shells.

Kelsey loved playing with all of her cousins, even though they are a few years older than her.

Grandpa Ellis cutting the other sweet goodness, some Turkey.

Kelsey loved playing the piano, just creating more noise in an already loud household.

Twilight....

Well... lets see...
We went to see Twilight today and well we went expecting nothing and actually got something out of it. Sort of.
My favorite characters:
Charlie
Alice
Bella's mom... her name escapes me... OH Renae
The major characters were well lets just say I don't know just go see the movie and you will understand. I won't say anymore until later, just to make sure that I don't spoil anything.

But... twinkle twinkle....

What do you think?

I saw this on my friends blog and thought it would be fun to see how accurate this is.
What do you think?
This is what our little boy should look like. And NO I am not pregnant! Give me a break Kelsey is not a year yet!

what time is it?

It's funny how time just seems to take out your feet when your not paying attention. There really hasn't been much to going on in our lives. Quinn is working, Kelsey is growing, and I am trying to sit back and enjoy the view. But as you can see time as slipped by me and it has been a while since I last posted. We seem to have alot of things going on in the next few months so I will keep you updated, hopefully a little better. ;)

Is a dog peeing on my daughter?

Halloween was fun this year! I wasn't hugely pregnant like last year so I got to dress up too! Kelsey was, can you guess??
Yes, our "one-sock-wonder" is a fire hydrant!

Complete with peeing dog!!!

Quinn and I had fun too! Quinn was Billy Idol/ 80's rick star. I was a Korean Soccer Player, although I was too scared to spray my hair black.
GO KOREA!!
Kelsey was enjoying the spoils of trick-or-treating. She was taking all the candy in the bowl and throwing it all over the floor. If only she knew what sweet goodness was in those little packages.

Pumpkin

My pumpkin, chosen from the Walmart cardboard boxes, with care.
Carved with gentle stabs of the fork and knife, by loving care takers.

The result, which sadly is all I have to show, because the very day this magnificent pumpkin got us $75 of November rent, it was stolen.

I guess one never knows when the little pumpkins will start devororing, or worse....
cue scary music

Finally part of Colorado

Colorado is all about being "green". Every where you look there is some alternative to everyday life that is better for the enviornment. Anyway, people use thier bikes whenever they can and a whole bunch of other stuff that normal people wouldn't really think of. Waterless toilet, that flushes... figure that one out. Anyway so when my parents were here, they decided to get me a bike trailer, and after much searching and figuring out everything, here it is! We only have one car so this is my form of transporation. Too bad I can only use it for about 2 more weeks.

(That is a gutter, not the actual sidewalk. Colorado isn't THAT cheep)
Kelsey wasn't so sure the first time we used it, but now she loves it, I just have to find a helmet small enough for her.

talking

Kelsey is now "talking" I guess you could call it. She says, Mama mama. I am pretty sure she doesn't understand what she is saying, but she does know that she is getting attention when she does say it.

I think this video is funny because it shows how short the attention span of a 10 month old really is and how much is really going through their little heads. First the talking, then the deep weird breaths, talking again, oh look! A camera! and then the clapping.

But one thing is for sure, our little girl is one of a kind.

The Joy of Fall

We decided to go to the pumpkin patch the other day. It was a beautiful day and a Friday morning so there wasn't that many people there so we took advantage. Kelsey was more excited by the cars going by then the bright colored pumpkins. But we still got some cute pictures.

In our "backyard" there is tons and tons of leaves! So we took Kelsey out and let her play in the leaves. She didn't know what was happening, but it was still cute.

Rocky Mountain National Park and the Zoo

Here are some pictures from when my parents were here. I am so bad at taking pictures with people in them.... I always forget to take pictures when people come to visit or something like that, but here you go...

The beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park, or as locals call it RMNP, Quinn took the day the off from work so he could come up and be with us which was way nice.
Kelsey really enjoyed all the driving and winding roads.
These are one of the many groups of elk we saw. This buck, I guess you could call him, had 6 points on one antler and seven on the other.... so needless to say he was really big, and he kept on "howling" which was really high pitched for a big guy.

The zoo was fun too. There was like 5 people in the whole zoo, so that was really nice. Dad was playing with his friend the monkey a lot. When we first walked up to the enclosure he was near the back then he came running up to the glass as soon as we walked up, it was pretty cool.
My parents have all the cool pictures so I will try and get some of them from my Mom so I can get them posted!

My first creation

While my mom was here, she re-taught me how to crochet. So the first thing I made was a scarf, she started it then I am finishing it (I have to get more yarn). Anyway, I was bored and started to play around with the yard and wala! My first creation...

I only took it out about 50 times before it was the right size. But I think it is cute and hopefully I can recreate something like this for me!!

I'll keep you updated on the scarf....

Update....

My parents have been in town for a little bit, so that is what is going on in our lives. I have pictures which I will post soon. We had a blast, we went up to RMNP... Rocky Mountain National Park and to the Denver Zoo. My parents had so much fun with Kelsey and she had so much fun with them. Mommy and Daddy, THANKS for coming up!!

Another little tidbit... I am selling Discovery Toys. They are really great toys for learning and for growing little kids imagination. Kelsey loves the toys which I have already gotten her and I can't wait until she is a little older so she can play with the more "complex" toys. If you want to see a catalogue or want to know anything else about these awesome, super spectacular, out of this world toys, just let me know!

First shoes

We decieded since Kelsey is walking, we should get her some shoes to save her socks...

Yes, the are real.

Sunday, September 21, 2008

Let me explain..... Kelsey stole the baby food jar after Quinn fed her. She made a big mess, but was really happy and that's what matters. I guess now we know she can drink out of a cup....

9 months and on the move

Here is another video of Kelsey walking. She is doing really well, which is great and bad at the same time. If she is playing by herself she can usually walk for quite a while, but then someone starts to play with her and she just gets too excited and falls over.

She had another doctors appt. the other day, and she is 27 inches long and weighs 18 pounds. There is a 4 month old baby in the our ward and she also weighs 18 lbs. so either that baby is a huge monster or Kelsey is a little small..... Either one we still love her.

Oh the fun of newspaper

The newspaper was never so much fun.... Yes, that is Kelsey talking.

Kelsey can WALK!

So it is offical, Kelsey at 8 and a half months can "walk"! She has taken a few steps and can hold her balance pretty well. I can't believe how fast she is growing and now she is actually moving! Holy COW!

The Denver Zoo

We went to the Zoo on Labor Day along with everyone else in Denver, but it was still fun! We went with our friends from the ward, Josh and Sarah with there kids. Here are some pictures from our little trip....Kelsey was really excited to be at the zoo staring at animals that she really couldn't see. We actually found out later that day that she was getting a tooth, so I guess that is way she was a little fussy. Sorry, sweetie.

There was a POLAR BEAR! It was about 80 degrees! I think he was just scoping out us humans for a good meal.

The fish were Kelsey's favorite part of the whole zoo, at least I think....
After looking at all the fish, Kelsey was wiped out. She slept through the sea lion show! Unfortunately she only slept for about 45 minutes. Which was just enough to give Quinn and my arms a little break, before we had to carry her again.
While waiting for the sea lion show, Quinn wanted a picture of us together, this is the result... the sun was really bright.
This was probably the best part of the whole zoo..... This monkey was looking through the window with his hands by his face, which was really funny to begin with, but then Kelsey went up there and she just thought this monkey was so funny!
Just an update.....
Kelsey is on the verge of walking, she has the balance and the nerve, but just doesn't realize that she can walk yet. Quinn and I are doing great and everything is wonderful!! YEAH!

Naked, Standing Baby

Kelsey is now offically 8 months and is standing on her own for extended periods of time. She is going to be walking before too long which is kind of scary. Excuse her nakedness.

Lets see what else is going on in our life right now.... Quinn goes to work, I stay home with Kelsey.... that's about it! The most exciting thing in our life is watching Kelsey grow and learn new things everyday. We have been enjoying watching the Olympics, and being in Colorado. I am teaching a beading class at our Wards' upcoming Super Saturday which should be fun. Quinn is keeping busy with is calling as the Elder's Quorum Secretary, and I am too with my calling as Valiant 12 Primary teacher. Everything is great here in the Quinn Ellis Family household.

Hey hey.....

So I know I haven't... havn't...... have not been doing the best about updating our blog, but give me a little break! My laptop, after running for 3 years without any problems has just kinda pooped out. It gave up and got a few viruses.... I know sad day. But we will make it through.

I don't like to post without a picture but right now all of the most recent pictures we have taken are on my laptop, which is incapacitated right now. So Mom, Dad I will get some pictures up soon, I swear! I am going to go now and watch Michael Phelps kick some Chinese butt!!

USA!! USA!! Woot!

Breaking Dawn

YEAH!! I finished Stephanie Meyers Twilight series yesterday, I know not a lot of people have read it yet so I am not going to say anything, but I am still am happy about what happened. Now I have to find another series that is going to be as good.... but I am not sure that this is going to happen. I think I might just keep on reading this series!

Just another update with everything that is going in our lives, nothing is really happening unfortunately. Kelsey is crawling all over and wanting to be able to walk SO bad. I don't think it is going to take to long. Quinn has been working hard and I think he has been enjoying his job. I have been doing anything that will occupy my time. Other than that we are great and hope to see family and friends as soon as we can!

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

So here is another video of Kelsey crawling that is a little better, although I can not get a really good video, Kelsey gets way distracted by the camera. The other video is her climbing up on the furniture and "talking". I think she has decided that crawling is fun, but walking would be better. I know this means that I am going to have my hands full in a couple months. Which kind of scares me, but I am also kind of excited as well.... I guess I am going to have to wait and see for that.

We all scream for Ice Cream

Quinn decided it would be fun to get an old hand crank ice cream maker. So he looked at Ebay and found a few that looked good but didn't win any bids because they were really expensive. Anyway as time went on he kept bidding and eventually won one (actually two but that's a story for another day) Anyway, we decided to try it out and see how it worked. It was pretty fun and gave our arms a work out. Best of all the Ice cream was really good.

Quinn cranking the Ice Cream Maker

Kelsey eating some of the Ice (she didn't help turn so she didn't get any Ice Cream... That's that rules)

The Ice Cream almost finished

After Kelsey went to sleep Ashley was able to help crank for a little while.

The two of us enjoying our well earned Ice Cream. It was GOOOOOD!

Our little Trouble Maker

This past weekend we have been in Idaho with the Vear Ellis Family Reunion (Quinn's Dads parents family) There were alot of people there, but it was really fun. There was alot of talking, alot of eating, and LOTS of candy. Kelsey started offically crawling there and started pulling herself up on the couches and everything that was the right size. She would then gain her balance and let go! She is going to be walking like next week!! I am not ready!! Please excuse her pj's in the picture....
The candy launcher was a big hit like it always is. A bottle is fitted with a container on top, filled with a little water than lauched in the air with some water! oh... candy is put in the container. The kids really like it and so do the parents. :)

The trip out to Idaho was actually pretty good, traveling throught the night wasn't as bad as it might seem. Especially driving through Wyoming, there is NO ONE there! So it was a really easy drive. The trip back to Colorado, took a little longer, but it was still really good. So we are back safe. Here is a picture of Kelsey I just thought was really cute!

Thanks to all our friends that let us come see them on Thursday. Kathryn and Preston, your house is AMAZING!! I am so jealous! Ed and Bekka, your little Lucy is so adorable. Jon, that was awkward. :P For all those who we didn't see, maybe next year!
