Technology sucks

Well I guess not always, but when it doesn't work properly, it sucks. On top of having to get a new computer we have to get a new external hard drive and try to get everything off of our old one. Kelsey dropped our external hard drive on Saturday which had about everything on it for the last 5 years of our lives. So just GREAT! Kids are great, kids are great, kids are great..... grrr.

Anyway on a high note. I want to share some cool pictures from a hike we went on a while ago. It's called Wood's Quarry down in Boulder. It has the best view I think I have ever seen.

So this is just some of the view. You could see all the way to Fort Collins and Downtown Denver. You could also see DIA!

At the top there were these cool chairs made out of stones, they were actually pretty comfy. If you got there early enough you would have a spectacular show of the sun rise.

This was Matt's "first hike". We don't judge, he's from Minnesota.

Kelsey thought it was pretty fun.

Ahh Summer.... more to come

So there is a whole bunch of pictures.... but they are fun! They are mixed up because I am too lazy to organize them! I am intending on putting the rest of them on Facebook.
On the hike, which was longer than intended... I fell in the snow. Yes, the SNOW! It is summer, but apparently not in Wyoming!
On the hike just catching our breath and looking at our accomplishment, so far, still about a mile to the top.
Kelsey loved the peas in Grandma's garden. She was calling them candy.

Wiggle Cars.... Sterling, Quinn's nephew, had so much fun on them. Quinn had fun on them too. As you can see.

Sterling liked to bump into people.

Kory was sleeping then he cuddled up with the laptop case. He was tired, really tired.

Jaymie, Jasmene's youngest. She is a CHUNK!

Jaymie and Jasmene swimming around. Jaymie was awake and smiling at her mom, but you can't see that.

Dayna is so big! She tried single skiing and wakeboarding. She was a pro wakeboarder.

Benjamin trying the single ski. He did so great. He also jumped off a 25 foot cliff all by himself, with a little bribe from his father.
Kelsey fell alseep on the boat, sitting up in her life jacket.

Another shot of Jaymie, what a chunk. Kory was making her do pull ups.

The best blog ever!

So I just thought I would post this, since I spend most of my day entertaining a 1 1/2 year old. I get a kick out of things like this....

cakewrecks.blogspot.com

It is awesome, Quinn and I just spent about 2 hours looking at all the cakes. I think we will stick to making our own.

Good Night!

The depressing search for a place to call home...

So many of you might know we have been searching for a house for a while now. It is very depressing, I guess it would be more fun, if we had a half million dollar budget, but we don't. We have looked at about 10 homes all together, and well lets just say that the amount of work that needs to be done in order to get the homes livable is WAY TOO much. If there is someone that wants to give us a half a million dollars I will take it and put it to good use! I promise!

Is there a way to make this more fun?

And on another note, does this always happen??

Everything is going great! We have started to build our savings again after Quinn broke his foot. The credit card bills are getting smaller and everything is dandy. Then our computer, which has been good for about 5 years now, pooped out. The screen just stopped working. We had our home teacher look at it, because he is good with computers and works with them all day, anyway, it is not salvageable, well not worth it anyway. So yet again. Once on top, back on the bottom. I guess that is one way to stay humble.
So now we have to decide what is the best plan of action. Get a new computer or try and survive with just the computers at the Library, for about a year. Oh, we also have the Internet on our Wii. I don't think I could handle either of those options! Right now Quinn has a computer from work which has been a life saver. We are going to go searching for the best option tomorrow before I leave town for 3 weeks!

I hate having responsibility.

3 Years!

Today is our 3rd Anniversary! This is what I "officially" got for Quinn. I "technically" got him a Dremel tool for Father's Day, his birthday, Christmas, and our Anniversary, but I decided to have some fun. I made this candy bar cake and on the top I made Duct tape roses! I have to wait until the weekend for my present, which is a nice dinner at Rodizio without Kelsey! I am so excited!

Hand Picked Designs

My mom, sister, and I have started this fun little business. We make bows and headbands! We have them in a shop locally here in Longmont and Mom is trying to get a shop in Havasu, where she lives. When she was up here last week, we had some fun taking pictures of some that she made and brought up here to sell. If you want any just let me know! $6 for two!

We can make whatever colors you want, with whatever kind of clip you want! Either email us or check out our etsy shop. handpickeddesigns@gmail.com and handpickeddesigns.etsy.com

Do you want to go to the ZOO?!?

My brother, Chris, had an 8 hour lay-over at the Denver Airport, so we picked him up and went to the zoo. Because it was supposed to rain, there wasn't that many people there, which was nice. But it started raining about the time that the elephant show was starting so they did it inside. That's were almost everyone who was at the zoo congregated. But Kelsey still had fun sitting on her daddy's shoulders.YEAH!
Kelsey likes birds...
I think she might be "smiling" at the birds.... she must take after her father....

At first Kelsey wouldn't even make eye contact with Chris, then he started to hold her. He was her best friend when she was being held.
I got pooped on by a bird........ sad day......

FHE

I have a few things that I want to post, but I am going to take a few days so that it seems like more! HA! This week we had a fun Family Home Evening. We played volleyball with a few families in the ward, sorry no pictures. Josh Strong had to hop the neighbors fence a few times to get the volleyball. Luckily, they were not home.... Then Josh brought liquid nitrogen to make ice cream. We made it so Hollie Traylor could eat it so not 'ice cream', but "soy cream" would be more like it. Then with the left over nitrogen we had some fun with balloons and dirt and other things, just seeing what would happen.

Totally awesome

We had a talent show at church and well... we stole the show.

What was really funny is that just a few acts later, another family in the ward, did the same thing! Only they had food and other things to shove in each others face. Hope you enjoyed!!

Quiet book

So I have decided to make a quiet book for Kelsey and future children... here is my progress so far.

A tee-pee, numbers, belt buckle, clock, matching shapes, closet with clothes, boy and girl that need clothes, how to tie a shoe, and button flowers. I am planning on making another few pages, just not quite sure what I am going to do, I have too many choices. I still have a way to go, but I am excited to finish this project!

Mequite Trip and update

So we have been world travelers! Well not really....but we have been down to Mesquite, Nevada, and St. George, Utah in these past few weeks. That is why nothing has happened here for a while. First off Kelsey and I traveled down to Mesquite (which is an hour north of Vegas) a week early. We spent the week with my Mom, sister and sister-in-law. We had so much fun. Fun with make-up, even going so far as to try and make our own. Anyway.... We had fun just being together and shopping, spending money we don't have and stuff like that. Then we got to see a baby blessing and baptism the same day! It was quite exciting.
We also had *most* of the family together so took advantage and got some pictures taken.

The next week I spent time with Jasmene and her family. I had such a great time. Kelsey did too. She had three great babysitters watching over her ALL the time. My job was easy!! So there is a reason to have more kids.... During my time in Mesquite, on Sunday, the wind was terrible. So bad that it blew over the trampoline! It blew into the house and bent one of the poles in the outside enclosure. When Quinn flew down Bryan and him used their combined college graduate brains to bend the pole back, here is the process:
Maybe a Hammer?

Nope.
Brut strength?

Nope.
Broken Foot?
Nope.
Not broken foot?
Nope.
Maybe if I hold here and you hold there....

Nope.
Finally with the addition of me, they were able to bend the pole back and the trampoline is now back into commission. Sorry there is not a picture of this. Meanwhile, Kelsey was playing on the little cozy coupe thing, which she now loves.

The next big event of the past week was Quinn's brother's wedding! YEAH! It was a beautiful day, and beautiful wedding, and a great BBQ after!

We thank all of those who housed us during these past weeks and are so excited for Nick and Jeramie to start their new lives together! Just for future reference, we are not traveling anywhere in the next month, so we should be better about keeping up.

Idaho Trip

Hello Everyone!! We got back from our Idaho trip and we had so much fun seeing everyone. Thanks to all the people who let us stay over, we appreciate it SO SO much. This is just random pictures I took.

This little bench was made by Kelsey's great grandpa. She loves it! The first time we brought it home, she put it right next to the couch and climbed right up. Now that is all she does. Thanks Great Grandpa! She really loves it! He also made Kelsey and all of his other great grandchildren a marble tree.
It makes lots of noise, so this might be her new favorite toy.

I think we might have to get a treadmill after this. Although her favorite part of the treadmill was sitting down on it than falling off the back. Like in the grocery store check-outs.

Working with Dad

Well not much has happened these past few weeks or days which ever you want. Quinn had a doctor's appt. today and everything is great! He can start walking on his foot! He is really excited. He is having difficulties not walking with the crutches since he has been on them for a while.
Last night Quinn FINALLY put together his fancy new grill we had been saving for. (We have had this grill for months) We got a great deal on it, thanks Target clearance!! But Kelsey was really excited to help him with it, as you can see in the video is is working hard on the wheels.

You can kind of see in the video she is actually twisting her wrist like she is tightening and loosening the screws. That's my girl.

Once the grill was put together Dada's shoes needed to be fixed.
